In addition to his accounting career, Mr. Ahn founded BCFi, a FinTech company that developed and launched an innovative online and mobile platform providing real-time financial data and automated profit-and-loss statements for multiple business entities. His professional philosophy is grounded in expertise, integrity, and trust. Rather than pursuing short-term results, Mr. Ahn emphasizes long-term financial stability and growth, positioning himself as a reliable partner clients can depend on for decades.
Mr. Ahn has served as the 19th President of the Korean American Society of CPAs (KASCPA) and previously as the 33rd President of the Korean-American CPA Society of Southern California. Beyond his profession, he has served as President of the Youth Volunteers Organization (2013–2017) and President of the Western Kendo Federation (2019–2021), demonstrating a lifelong commitment to leadership and service.
Outside the office, Mr. Ahn is a Kendo master and dojo head, sharing the spirit of discipline and respect with his students. He is also a passionate saxophone player and golfer, finding balance between professional dedication and personal well-being. He resides in Los Angeles County with his wife and three sons, where he has built a life rooted in family, culture, and community.
He also operates the “안병찬 in USA” YouTube channel, which has grown to more than 66,000 subscribers, providing clear and practical insights on U.S. taxation, retirement, and financial planning for the Korean-American community.
Mr. Ahn is an accomplished author and media commentator who has played a leading role in making accounting and tax knowledge accessible to the public. His book “The Tax Secrets the Wealthy Already Know” (2006) became a national bestseller, while “Having Confidence with IRS Audit” (2013) is widely regarded as a practical guide for both tax professionals and individual taxpayers. He also produced the “QuickBooks Pro 2000 Guidebook and Lecture Video Series” (2000), which helped lay the foundation for computer-based accounting education in the Korean-American community.
Since 1997, he has written columns for The Korea Times and hosted live radio tax seminars on Radio Korea (AM 1530) and Radio Seoul (AM 1650) for more than 25 years, providing consistent, trusted education on U.S. tax and finance to Korean-speaking audiences. His work as an author, educator, and broadcaster has made him a recognized bridge between the United States and Korea in the field of cross-border taxation and financial education.
Mr. Ahn earned his Master of Business Taxation (MBT) degree from the University of Southern California (USC), where he conducted advanced research on individual, corporate, and trust taxation.
